Finsight inauguration

Chief guest of the function was Mr.Dharmanand Rao,Divisional Manager,United India insurance.
The president was Dr. M S Moodithaya.
The function began with a creative and entertaining speech by Prof.R.K. Sharma,the staff coordinator of Finsight.

After this, Mr. Samrat, the secretary of Finsight read the Action plan for the year 2007 which includes-
-Trading sessions organised every Saturday afternoons.
-1 day internship program on Derivatives organised on 30th September 2007.

Drawing competition organised by Samvedana

A Drawing competition was organised by Samvedana on 23rd September 2007 for the children from 7 schools near Nitte.
This was the first event organised by Samvedana this year.Ms.Soumya Rao from the second batch of the institute was the cheif guest.Prof. AVM Karnik presided over the event.

A singing competition for the children was also organised.
Later the children were taken to the Sanmati garden nearby.The program was arranged by Ms.Jayanti,the staff coordinator of Samvedana;Mr.Dilip,Secretary of Samvedana and the entire Samvedana team.

A calendar will be made with the drawings and sold.The proceeds will go towards charity.

Maestro Inauguration

MAESTRO is the marketing association wherein students
actively participate in co-curricular activities
related to marketing. MAESTRO was inaugurated on
14-09-2007 by Mr.Ullas Kamath, Chief Divisional
Manager, IOL, Managalore. Mr. Kamath spoke about the
importance of ethical issues in marketing and
appreciated the value system which is prevailing in
India and practiced in coastal Karnataka.
Mr.Shashidhar Karkera listed out the planned events
and programs for the current academic year. Pro.
Ravilochan Rao spoke on the occasion. Prof.
P.R.Chadaga presided over the function.
Mr.Chander Prakash welcomed the gathering and
introduced the guests. Ms.Tinu Antony proposed vote of
thanks. Master of ceremony was Mr. Rahul Ramakrishna.

Rotaract installation

The installation ceremony of Rotaract club of the institute was ceremony conducted on 11th September, 2007 in the auditorium of the college. The chief guest for the function was Rtn. Mr. Kiran Vasanth and the guest of honor was Rtn. Mr. Thukaram Shetty. The Director of the institute Rtn. Dr. M.S. Moodithaya presided the function. The staff coordinator for the club is Rtn. Prof. AVM Ramesh Karnik.
The function started with a prayer by Ms. Tripthi and Ms. Divya. The MC for the evening was Mr. Shesh Kamath. The welcome speech was given by Mr. Sunil Nayak, the secretary. This was followed by the traditional ceremony of lighting the lamp. Then the oath taking ceremony was held. The new members to the club are:
President- Ms. Sona Shetty
Vice-President- Mr. Sandesh Karanth
Secretary- Mr. Sunil Nayak
Treasurer- Mr. Girish P.K.
Sergeant-at-arms- Ms. Amulya Hegde.
The President of the club, Ms. Sona Shetty, gave the report of activities held in the previous year and also a list of activities that are planned for the year 2007-08. Then, Mr. Kiran Vasanth gave an inpiring speech and tips on how to make the best use of the opportunities. Mr. Thukaram Shetty also enlightened the gathering with experiences and anecdotes from his own life. Prof. AVM R. Karnik told that this year Rotaract Club is going to be even better than last year with loads of activities to look forward to. Dr. M.S.Moodithaya spoke about the club as whole and also gave new innovative ideas to the members. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Amulya Hedge.

Samvedana Inauguration

Samvedana,the community service wing of JKSHIM was inaugurated today.
The chief guest of the function was Mr.K. Ramamurthy,the general manager of Corporation bank.

The function began with lighing of the lamp by the chief guest followed by narration of the plan of action of the year 2007 by Mr.Dilip,the secretary of Samvedana.



Some of the events planned by Samvedana are as follows-
- A visit to the physically challenged students of Mangala Jyothi on the occasion of Children's day.
- An Aids awareness program through street plays and distribution of pamphlets.
- A blood donation camp.
Mr.Ramamurthy extended his happiness on the initiative and stated that "there is a need for sharing the pulse of others."



He also mentioned about Corporation bank's initiative for service to the community called "Corp Compassion" where Rs.10 is donated towards charity for account opened in the bank.
The director of the institute, Dr. M.S Moodithaya addressed the gathering saying "If you can show social sensitivity,then you'll have better acceptance among people."

Finally to conclude, he asked the students to remember that "Charity can solve today's problems but philantrophy can solve tomorrow's problems."

With this,Samvedana was inaugurated.
A lot of causes need to be championed,through Samvedana,we can try to make a difference.

Sr'jana Inauguration

Sr'jana, the cultural wing of Justice K.S hegde Institute of Management was inaugurated on Friday,september 7th, by Mr.B.K. Ravindra,Principal of SDM Law college.

The chief guest of the function was Mr.P.S Punchitaya,a well known artist from Kasargod.

A song on sr'jana written by Ms.Nandini Upadhyaya,a second year MBA student of the college,sung on the occasion, was well appreciated by everyone present.

Mr.Punchitaya gave a live demonstration by painting a beautiful picture based on the theme of the song.

The formal function was followed by a 2 hour cultural program by the students which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Hearty congratulations to Mr.Nagprasad,the secretary of sr'jana and all the students for putting up a commendable show.
